Why we say that the Tinikling dance is traditional?

Tinikling is a traditional Philippine folk dance because is originated during the Spanish colonial era.

The dance involves two people beating, tapping, and sliding bamboo poles on the ground and against each other in coordination with one or more dancers who step over and in between the poles in a dance.

History

Including second-language speakers, there are more speakers of Filipino than English in the Philippines.

The legend of tinikling

Legend says that Tinikling originated during the time when the Spaniards took over thePhilippines. Natives worked on large plantations under the control of the King of Spain. Thosewho didn't work productively were punished by standing between two bamboo poles.
